Philips 32PFL5403D/F7 32-Inch 1366 x 768p LCD HDTV (Black)

I purchased this set for $499 at Sam's Club and it appears that I got a good deal. The picture is ultra crisp and the set itself looks great. My only complaint is there are no front mount speakers. The speakers run along the top. Because we were replacing an old television set, this will go into a cabinet. Because of the way the sound is, it gives a slight muffled sound, like its in a tunnel. We have mostly resolved it my moving the set all the way to the front. It's not perfect, but improved.

I also don't like the way the menu stays on for 3 seconds or so when you change the channel. It is useful the 1 time out of 100 that you want to know what is on that channel, but if you are channel surfing it is annoying.

My negative comments aside, I was very happy with the set. It is such a huge improvement from my old television I feel like I've gone from the stone age to the space age. Buy Philips 32PFL5403D/F7 32-Inch 1366 x 768p LCD HDTV (Black)!

Samsung PN50A400 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV

I bought this TV as a gift to our family. Sears priced it at $899 (although it was $799 there on Black Friday.)
Pick-up was a bit of a problem since I was told by the Sears salesperson that the TV must not be transported flat (horizontal) and the shipping carton is 36.9 inches tall. My Jeep Liberty and an a neighbor's Ford Expedition didn't have sufficient clearance to haul it upright so I used my 16' trailer to pick it up. A bit of overkill, but it got the job done.
The picture is terrific as noted in other reviews, and I would rate the set as Five Stars except for the lack of easy-access inputs. I understand that other Samsung plasmas have side inputs but this model doesn't.

Bought one from Target. Try every type of DVDs (retail store bought, region 1, yadda yadda, I'm not stupid), none worked.

Sylvania LC370SS9 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

We had no reviews on this tv to read when we went to buy it, the only good lead that we had about the Sylvania brand, was the fact that my Father bought one for his room, a different model, but he loved it. He is a hard man to please, so to get his buy-in is a big deal. We have been very pleased with this TV, it has a great picture quality, and great sound. The size of the TV is perfect, it is not so big that is takes up the whole room, it fits in the corner of our room on the wall giving us the add space we needed.
I think I fell in love with this TV, not only because it is a great deal, but because I saw the Utes beat down on the Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl a few days after buying it!!! Oh baby what a great picture for a great game!!!

Sylvania CD130SL8 13-Inch CRT TV/ DVD Combo

Very disappointed in this product. Was trying to replace an older Toshiba 13" (very high quality but no longer available), but this Sylvania product has a terrible 'tinny' sound quality, slightly off-level picture (dips to the right), and a front glass lens with one corner partially pushed in (improperly set? poor quality control?). Emerson 32" LCD HDTV

We bought this TV just before Christmas and just love it. It has a great picture and works well with our cable tv connection. We had difficulty at first setting it up because it wants to set the channels itself, so be sure and set it to manual before you begin. We called Emerson for help and they were very genial and helpful. As the other rater said, it does not sinc with my cable remote, but that seems the only drawback to us. Buy Emerson 32" LCD HDTV!

One thing the listing doesnt tell you is that this will NOT receive the new ATSC HDTV channels (2.1, 2.2, etc). After Feb. of next year, this will not receive anything unless you hardwire it to cable tv. To receive the new channels you will need model NX-576A.

I got this tv to replace an aging 5 inch B&W SD TV in our bathroom. We use this TV for watching traffic and weather as we're getting ready for work. Beyond that, I wouldn't recommend this TV. This unit does have a good tuner, nice remote, and the ability to position the screen is great. The downsides include are a poor picture (bright enough, but a lot of pixelation of colors) and abysmal sound (the sound is tinny/harsh and has a constant hum in the background)

Can't say enough good about this TV - Out of the box plugged in and the picture is perfect! After a year of living with it I would recommend a Sammy to anyone.

Vizio 32" LCD HDTV - VX32L

I bought it, first set had a problem with Image Retention (Burn in/Ghost outlines)from images left on the screen for more than a few SECONDS, and would take a good 20 MINUTES of the image cleaner to get it off. I sent it back in for a refund within the same week.

Another issue you might wanna know about is they are having malfunctions with faint lines showing across the screen from input sources using the analog inputs. Through HDMI and VGA no problems known.

Vizio doesn't manufacture anything themselves, they buy parts from other manufacturers and just assemble the left over pieces. Kind of like eating the floor sweepings of a hot dog factory (HAHA). If I'm not mistaken, this TV's display panel, like most of the panels on their other sets, are LG panels.

Your not gonna get KURO blacks or picture quality, so don't go in expecting to respond in excitement at the best picture you have ever seen, cuz you'll be disappointed.Buy Vizio 32" LCD HDTV - VX32L!

Samsung 46 Inch 1080P LCD

I believe for their size the speakers have great clarity. I do plan on adding a sound system in the future for movies, games and such. Totally a "cinch" to use right out of the box. Great set up; on screen menu and good picture (even w/o HDTV as yet) !!! The only TV I'll give 5 stars to; will be LED, and hasn't really been perfected yet; nor has the price been "obtainable" for most. I'd give this one 4.5 stars if I could though; am VERY SATISFIED !!! Memorex 32" LCD HDTV with DVD

I bought my TV back in September at Target and it was $550 on sale (originally $600). I was really excited because I was going to spend about that much on one without a DVD player. I researched a lot of the LCD TVs at the time and this seemed like the best TV for this price range. I don't know what has happened to the TVs owned by the other people that have reviewed this but my guess is maybe they didn't take care of it properly or it was luck of the draw that they got a bad one...or maybe I was just lucky to get one of the few good ones. I've had it for 5 months now and no problems (knock on wood). The TV has great picture, DVD player works great, and the TV itself looks nice and sleek. I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone, but then again maybe I was just really lucky to get a good one...Buy Memorex 32" LCD HDTV with DVD!

Philips 52PFL7403D/27 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

Note that this TV will work with 110- 220V and with NTSC as well as PAL signal- thus this is a truly multisystem TV and that was a key criterion for me. I compared this also to the only somewhat multisytem TV on the market(Sharp) Additionally:

Positives:
1. VERY natural picture- people have mentioned the 3D effect in HD- it is true, you can actually feel the depth in the studio behind the newscaster. Natural skin tones - very comfortable on the eye. Sharp had a more "smudged" color feel
2. Decent SD. Since it is 52" please do not sit nearer than 8 feet to view SD or you will be disappointed in any 52" TV, but I think this TV does a good job on SD.
3. Very easy set up- no need to spend $ on professional calibration. The Sharp I had to keep calibrating again and again.
4. Enough inputs options. 4 HDMIs, 2 component, 1 S and 1 Composite, 1 USB. No computer input though unless use DVI
5. Comes with swivel stand
6. Great in bright light, although in high amount of sunlight the contrast gets washed out.

Negatives:
1. Digital natural motion and 120Hz don't seem to make much of a difference for me. MAybe there is something to it- I am yet to see it clearly.
2. Picture gets grayer as you move away from the center of the TV. Sharp had less of an issue
3. Decent profile/ looks- simple black bezel, but Sharp is thinner and lighter and better looking though. This one is heavy- much more than Sharp

As for the Sony and Samsung enthusiasts, please go for them if you have the extra $, they definitely have a better picture and you should judge the price/ value equation. I had to rule them out as they are not Multisystem.

Finally I struggled a lot about Plasma vs. LCD (over >6 months actually), ultimately the weight, power requirement and bright light compatibility moved me in favor of LCD.

I bought this TV on Jan. 22nd 2009 for, I believe, a very good price ($1600)

The TV is great, clear picture, vivid and bright. The only problem I have is 1080i is actually down converted to 720 which actually makes the color bleed a little. Toshiba REGZA 32LV67U 32-Inch LCD HDTV with DVD Player

I had purchased this set back in February 2008 and wanted to review after having it for awhile.

This set with DVD player was purchased for our bedroom. The picture quality is gorgeous and vibrant. We have just moved and until we get our 42 inch Panasonic on the wall we have been using this one in the living room. It more than suffices! It looks amazing, that I could see someone using this one as a main tv if the room isn't too large.

Unlike other LCDs, this one does not turn dark or grayed out when viewed from different angles. The picture quality is amazing. The colors are vibrant and bright and I feel as if it is able to get a "true black".

As far as the DVD player... the reality is we have used it about 2 times; so I cannot review on the dependability. I have read and experienced that Toshiba DVD players love to conk out.

The frame is very sleek and sexy, just don't touch it with your oily fingers! I wish I had purchased two when they were on sale because I can no longer find the combos anywhere.

Again, if you can find it for a good price, jump on it. You will not regret it. Also wanted to mention that this set picks up an unbelievable amount of HD channels (about 90) without a cable/satellite box. Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-19M4000/D 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, White with Orange Accent

Sony's 19-inch Bravia TV produces an outstanding picture in HD, but it is the sound quality that distinquishes it from the other very good TVs. This set replaces a 12 year 15-inch Sony, that sits on a kitchen counter, and we wanted the new HD set to have the same rich, warm sound. Other small screen sets seemed to have the tiny, cheap speaker sound. The remote is very user friendly and easy to use.

Sharp Aquos LC32GP3UR 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Red)

I am extremely pleased with the overall quality of this television. While it is a bit on the pricey side for a 32", the quality of the picture (in both SD and HD) is amazing. I purchased mine refurbished, saving a few hundred dollars, but it is worth the money.

Pros:

Superior SD and HD quality picture
Wonderful viewing angles - No picture degradation
Good audio for an LCD
3 HDMI inputs (including one on the side of the unit, which is helpful for wall mounting, which I have done)
Tons of options for adjusting the picture settings
Great design
1080p

Cons:
A bit pricey for the 32" size (Some of the 1080p 32" sets are now around $750)
Power up time and input changing speed are average

It is hard to find a TV larger than 22" with a white bezel, and this is the only option out there that isn't several years old.
