Samsung LNT4061F 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

I purchased a Samsung LNT 4061F last March 2008. I loved it at first, but recently noticed faint glimpes of 'burn-in'. I called customer service at Samsung only to find that 'burn-in' is not covered by the warranty. I have had this TV for only 10 months and was surprised to find that Samsung does not stand behind its products. There are two faint purple rectangles on the screen caused by messages that the TV produces. For example, messages (such as 'HDMI 1') rountinely appear on the screen in bright blue for a few seconds in the upper left corner of the TV, but the rectangle stays forever. There is another rectangle in the center of my TV where other messages appear. Customer Service at Samsung basically stated it was my fault for allowing the messages to stay on too long; this is absurd.

Buyer beware -- the one year warranty does not cover burn-in; the Samsung rep stated, "It would cheaper to buy another TV". I paid over $1100 for this thing. Never, no never will I buy another Samsung. Buy Samsung LNT4061F 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV!

Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-19M4000/P 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, White with Pink Accent

Sony's 19-inch Bravia TV produces an outstanding picture in HD, but it is the sound quality that distinquishes it from the other very good TVs. This set replaces a 12 year 15-inch Sony, that sits on a kitchen counter, and we wanted the new HD set to have the same rich, warm sound. Other small screen sets seemed to have the tiny, cheap speaker sound. The remote is very user friendly and easy to use.

But there is one knockdown. Although the screen is only 19-inch, the wide frame makes the set much bigger. The set is kept upright by a small leg in the back, very unstable. Buy Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-19M4000/P 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, White with Pink Accent!

Toshiba REGZA Cinema Series 46XF550U 46-inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

I purchased the Toshiba 46XF550U from Amazon in late November. The TV arrived in pristine condition in the expected delivery window. For the first week I was waiting for HD to be installed and was forced to watch SD programming. I think that the Toshiba does a very good job handling SD signals and looked great via Direct TV. The picture was very clear and after initial setup looked much, much better than I expected. Even after stretching the screen out using one of the Theater modes.
I had a friend come by with his Xbox360(yeah, I don't have one) and the games were AMAZING! He said numerous times how he was able to see details that he had not seen before. The game intros were incredible as well. Using an Upconverting DVD player I was able to view the TV display in 1080p. Absolutely blows you away! Definitely get the most of standard DVDs.
Once the HD upgrade was complete I realized TV viewing BLISS! The picture is very good right out of the box with very little picture adjustment required. Like most all new TVs there a a few basic tweaks to make, but after that, AHHHHHHHH!!! Watching all of the playoff football this year has been much more enjoyable because of the brilliant picture quality of my new Toshiba LCD HDTV. Samsung LNT1954H 19-Inch LCD HDTV White

Don't pay too much attention to the negative reviews. I bought this refurbished TV from Amazon in May and have it mounted on the bedroom wall. Picture (SD/HD) and SRS sound are good. Start-up is a little slow, around 10 sec. Also manual touch controls are a little sensitive, takes a while to get used to. You can always use the remote, which works fine. Remote must have RF, since I can point it at the opposite wall and it still works. Shop around, go for this 2007 model if you can get it for $300 or less. Otherwise, get the L19A331 model.

Useful tip: for wall mount, top of TV should not be more than a couple of inches above eye level. Otherwise, picture will be a little dark.Buy Samsung LNT1954H 19-Inch LCD HDTV White!

V VIZIO VX20L - 20" LCD TV - widescreen - 720p - HDTV

I HAVE 3 FLAT SCREENS. 2 1080P'S AND THE VIZIO 720P. I WAS QUITE SURPRISED AT HOW GREAT THE VIZIO PERFORMS. I NEEDED A SMALLER SET FOR MY 10 X 14 BDRM. 20 - 22" WIDESCREEN WORKS WELL. VIZIO HAS DONE THEIR HOMEWORK. PICTURE IS SHARP AND CLEAN WITH EXCELLENT COLOR. REMOTE CONTROL IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND USE AND RESPONDS WITH LITTLE OR NO HESITATION. WITH ECONOMY BEING WHAT IT IS, DELIVERED PRICE WAS ABOUT $25 CHEAPER THAN I COULD BUY IT ON THE STREET. IT WAS THE BEST DEAL FOR THIS SIZE TV I COULD FIND AT THE TIME. Sharp Aquos LC52D43U 52-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

My primary goal was to get a large screen TV that is good with regular Non HD channels because most of the channels that my family watches are Non HD being Indian language channels which may take a few years to convert to HD. So I recently purchased an LCD from a big name TV maker 46 inch 1080P and did not have a very good image when viewing Non HD Indian satellite channels. I am not sure if this is just an issue with that particular set or with the model itself. I returned that TV and got a Sharp LC52D43U and am much satisfied with the image of Non HD channels. The packaging, the stand and overall externals also looked quite good. I cannot rate the reliability of the Sharp TV because I have had it for just a week but the picture quality for Non HD is good. There are two dimensions to enjoying a large screen TV. One is the larger image and the other is the better quality / higher resolution picture. If you watch a lot of Non HD content, it is best to ask the sales person to hook up the TV of interest to an antenna or regular cable and test the set out for the picture quality because there are a lot of large screen 1080P TVs out there that have poor picture quality for Non HD channels.Buy Sharp Aquos LC52D43U 52-Inch 720p LCD HDTV!
