We bought this TV for our morning "getting ready" bathroom. We wanted news and weather for the day. We can only pick up two of the four channels in our area and our other TV's get the signals crystal clear. Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-37M4000 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

I purchased this TV on black friday and received it the following tuesday. It is perfect for gaming and graphics look amazing when I play on my xbox 360. Though the problems start occuring with image quality when you watch tv or dvd's. You will have to have cable with hd programing, which cost alot of money, as if you try to watch with an antenna it looks worse than on a standard definition tv. Though with the switch over to DTV that will change. The next problem I encountered was with my dvd player. I have a sony dvd/vcr combo player, just got it last year, and it looked very bad. The quality is similar to a movie that was recorded with a very crappy digital camera. So you will also have to buy a upscaling dvd player and get a hdmi cable. So if you get this tv, be sure to get that as well. I was able to hook the dvd player up to component and that improved it slightly but again, it looks better on a standard definition tv. I also have to switch wires around if I want to watch a tape as the vcr section of the player will not work when the dvd player is hooked up to component. Sharp LC 42SB45U - 42" LCD TV - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV - black

I've had this TV around 2 months now and have been very satisfied. I have the following devices hooked up to the TV:

Motorola HD-PVR for cable
Magnavox Blu-ray Player
Wii game system

I may eventually run a cable to my PC as well for steaming video. The video quality is really good, especially at the 1080i/p range. SD looks pretty good and standard TV signals aren't bad but noticeably inferior to HD or SD. This is just something you have to tolerate in this price range as the TVs with really good native HD upconversion are still pretty expensive.

The only negatives that I've really found are:

1. The built-in speakers are pretty cheap sounding but would probably be adequate for a small room. This is a non-issue for me since everything goes through my surround receiver anyway. My TV's volume is always set at "0" even before this TV.

2. There is noticeable light in the corners which is obvious when you have the lights turned down and the corners are showing black - such as watching a movie with a high aspect ratio. Not a deal-breaker by any means but just a minor irritation for me.

3. Not really a fault of the TV (more of a compatibility issue with a third party remote), but when using a Harmony remote, only a few of the direct input buttons work. The TV's remote uses multiple "input" button presses to change the input. The Harmony database for this TV came up with direct input buttons so it doesn't have to scroll but only three of them work. These are (1) set of standard RCA inputs and (2) HDMI inputs. This worked out fine for me because my PVR and Blu-ray are hooked up through HDMI and my Wii is using the RCA inputs (I had to scrap my component Wii cable in the name of simplicity). Of course I could upgrade my surround receiver but it's not worth all that ;-)

The first two issues are why I give the set only four stars instead of five. Like I said, the third issue is more of an issue with the remote and the fact that the Harmony still gives more functionality than the original remote kind of nullifies this complaint.

I've had this TV for just over a year and it will not turn on. The manual says to hit the reset button which i did and still does not work. The manual has no other solutions (so what do i do now.) I purchased this TV because I thought it was a good one for the conversion. There turned out to be many problems with this television. First of all, I could not find an antenna that would allow a clear picture on the 5 stations that the television identified. So on the night of the Academy Awards we set-up the television in the living room and decided to "screen" a DVD on the TV. About an hour into the movie, the DVD player locked up and all we could do was eject the DVD and move into another room to finish watching the movie and subsequently the awarda ceremony. The volume only goes up to 30 which nade the DVD difficult to watch for persons with hearing impediments. Zenith Z32LC6D 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

The t.v. has the best picture I've seen out of all the 32 inch t.v.s I came across.(Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, Vizio, etc) It contains all the inputs needed for video game systems and cable t.v. The blacks are black and the colors are spot on. My Xbox 360 looks absolutely amazing on it. You can watch this t.v. in a bright room with the sun pointing at it and still clearly see the picture. With other t.v.s you can see your reflection on it and that distracts from the picture. This t.v. has NO glare at all. It's perfect for a daytime and nighttime setting.

One other thing I like about this t.v. is that is has no ghosting. Ghosting whether playing on the Xbox 360 or watching regular t.v. was a lot more evident on the other t.v.s I listed. Most notable was the Samsung and the Vizio where the ghosting was horrendous. I feel very happy to have finally found a t.v. without this annoyance.

This t.v. contains all the features that other t.v.s have but it's not expensive like them. At the price it is now, it is truly a steal and a t.v. that you won't regret purchasing. Heck if it was a couple of hundred dollars more I'd still get it!

Update: After having the t.v. for a while I got to admit, SD on this t.v. looks really good. I know an HDTV isn't meant for standard definition, but for people who don't have some kind of high definition setup they won't be disappointed. Out of all the HDTVs I've had, the SD is the best on this one. Also HD on this t.v. seems to make sense. It's not to sharp and not to blurry but just right. The sharpness seems to make sense in terms of the detail you can see compared to other HDTVs. I will continue to update as I test with more sources. I bought this for $200 at BB to put in my kitchen, after living with 2 other LCD TV's I'm sorry to say my newest TV is my poorest one. I have the Samsung 22" 650 model and must say that's a GREAT TV. The colors on the Sharp are washed out at times, face tone is what I notice the most. For the money I'm going to keep it so understand it's livable just not the best. Also remember I paid $399 for the Sammy so it all comes out in the wash. The egg timer works and perfect in the Kitchen, it has a magnet so you can stick it on the fridge! I'm starting to see the LED back lighted LCD TV's, BOY do they look great!!!, keep looking if you can wait because the LED models are brighter and sharper in every way, this TV is on the dark side, much darker then my Samsung. Mitsubishi LT-52148 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

Bought this TV around 1 month back. The product quality is awesome and seems quite well made. The TV picture quality is amazing, specially for an "average" TV viewer like me. On top of it picture options are quite customizable too. I am feeling my TV viewing experience has improved quite a bit.

The icing on top is that this TV fits very nicely into my in-built entertainment center. Thin frame means TV section of my center is just filled with picture and not with "touch of color" functionally irrelevant 4 inch wide frame.

Philips 42PFL5603D/F7 42-Inch 1920 x 1080p LCD HDTV (Black)

Don't put any stock in the specs. First, the TV's slideshow feature DOES NOT support .alb files, even though it clearly states so in every spec sheet I have ever read, and it says explicitly so in the manual. The email and telephone customer support is terrible - they have no idea what you are talking about when you call. The email support does not allow you to respond to answers they give you (sent from an unattended email address). Finally, if you want to use this TV to do business presentations or show slidshows from a USB camera, drive, or flash device, you CANNOT SORT THE IMAGES. The TV does not sort by name, number, date, or anything that makes logical sense.

I happen to have discovered how the sorting is done, and was able to fix the issue myself with a third-party app that runs on Windows (it's easier in Linux). However, I am not giving up the secret because Philips does not deserve this service from me. The infuriated me so badly, I will never buy another Philips product.

Otherwise, the TV has mediocre performance, poor menus, and a bad remote.

I bought this TV as a floor model from Costco for [...] (with a 2 year warrany included!) and on Black Friday I bought the Sony Blue-Ray BDP-BX1 [...]. Yah, I made out! Look around, besides Amazon's current pricing, I would have paid double. The picture is incredible. The sound if fine, but good for the speakers being in the back for asthetics. Besides, you want a Yahama sound system to go with something like this anyhow. The framing is gorgeous with a glass look to it. The base swivels. The TV sits higher on the base than most. The Auto picture feature bounces back and forth a lot, but you get use to that. They could improve with a newer firmware update than 1.15 to lock in the auto feature. All-in-all, you would waste you money on anything else, unless the deal is better. I have owned it for 90 days now and was debating on returning it at Cosco before the 90 days are up if I had problems or there was something better out there or the reviews from others were bad due to problems they were experiencing. I have been all over the web and I think we are unanymous in saying it is an amazing TV!!! I struck gold on this deal and am keeping for years to come. This is one fantastic TV! I have had it for about a month now and have enjoyed every minute. The picture is sharp (really deep blacks) and the 120Hz technology really does make a difference. This is an excellent TV for the money. HD picture is outstanding. Black levels are very good. Menu system easy to use and menus snap open and closed instantly. Has 2 HDMI ports plus other types. We use one for our Dish receiver and the other for our Blu-Ray. Adding a low cost HDMI switch is simply way to get more. Built in DVD works great and upscales SD DVDs. But our Blu-Ray disks look fantastic at 1080P. Remote is well organized. Has sub woofer connector but this set deserves a surround sound system. We see no reason to spend more for more expensive snob brands. Can't think of any negatives at all about this TV. This TV costs less than other TV's with similar features. What I learned before I went out to purchase a TV of this type was make sure it is 1080p and that it is full HDTV. This TV has both these things. It also has so many features to numerous to list here. The most important thing for me is the picture quality and this TV blew me away. I am so happy with my purchase of this TV I just had to let people know that they do not need to spend a lot of money to get a top quality TV. Don't disregard this TV when making your decision as to what brand TV to buy. I took the extra money and purchased a top quality "Surge Protector". Oh, also, I didn't need to buy the HDTV cable that can be very expensive. My cable company gave me the cable for free. So you may want to check it out before you buy the cable. Vizio XVT 42'' SV420 120Hz 1080p LCD HDTV

I own the Sony Bravia 52", KDL-52W4100. Although the Sony has more bells and whistles, I can barely distinguish a difference in the picture quality between the two TVs. I enjoy watching the Vizio as much as the Sony. Also, my Vizio came with the multi-device remote, and I find it easy to use. Great value and the price was right. Sceptre Naga 23" 720p LCD HDTV - Black (X23BV)

I'm not usually a fan of off brand TVs, but for the price, this is a fantastic 23" option. The picture is clear and accurate (enough) at both 720p and 1080i resolutions. The color accuracy is fairly good, but I did have to tweak things a bit to get a picture that wasn't too saturated. Thankfully the menus are actually very intuitive.

The volume level on this TV is fairly low, so I suggest getting an inexpensive 2.1 speaker system to handle processing your audio.

Connectivity is pretty good and includes: 1 HDMI, 1 VGA (no DVI which would have been nice, but you can use a HDMI to DVI converter) your standared composite connection, and S-video, and a video in. Output includes an SPDIF Out which is awesome for digital sound. Try to find speakers that will take advantage of the SPDIF out if possible. It will dramatically improve the sound quality.

This monitor is HDCP compatible, which means you can use it with a computer to play HD content like Blue Rays. This is great if you plan on using this as a monitor.

One complaint is that the TV is a bit slow to respond to input from the remote. This happens when navigating the menu, or when changing inputs. However, it's only a minor issue.

This TV is a bargain for the price. The features, display quality, and overall value for the price is exceptional. This is NOT an videophile TV and will not impress the extremely picky. However, if you want a solid TV without spending a fortune, the Sceptre Naga 23" is a great option. Buy Sceptre Naga 23" 720p LCD HDTV - Black (X23BV)!

Sony KDL-46W4150 Bravia 46? Class (45.5?) W4150 LCD Television

I picked this TV because it has great features and is reasonably priced. It's near the mid-point of the BRAVIA line, and has many of the important features of the XBR series TV's, but at a more reasonable price. The 120mhz Motion Flow technology was a big selling point.

This unit is identical to the Bravia W4100 series, except the lower portion is BLACK instead of silver.

I bought it from J&R as they are one of the few retailers who carry this model... HIGHLY recommend it. And totally worth the price!

I purchased this TV and was very pleased until a volume problem started. When watching a show the sound went to full volume and static. I contacted Philips and it turns out to be a design flaw with the TV. They refused to fix it and suggested I return the TV.
