Toshiba REGZA 42XV540U 42-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

Got the television and on hooking it up noticed a dark grey vertical line about 1 cm wide in the middle of the picture. Called toshiba, the rep could not resove it over the phone. I asked for a new nondefective replacement. Toshiba refused and said my only recourse was to have it repaired under warranty by our local Toshiba repair facility. They repaired it and the picture and sound are now fine. How long it will last, time will tell. The repair shop said the "panel" was bad and commented how "cheaply" the TV was built. I recently purchased another name brand of tv and had to return it. I purchased this name brand tv on line. The reviews were great and the price even greater. After one week of fiddling around with this thing, I returned it and knew I had to get a Sony Bravia. I did and am I glad. I've only had the Sony for one day so far and it's great. Sharp Aquos LC52D64U 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

I was so excited to get my new TV. Had everything setup. Set the TV to scan for all available channels. The process of removing channels was horrible. Unlike Sony where you just click add/delete in this Sharp TV you have to go through the menu and delete each channel. Hate it. Then I get to a few channels where I can see the picture perfectly, but I can't hear anything. That's strange because all the other brand TV at home can get those channels with sound perfectly even Vizio the brand I hate with its poor quality picture and a control that only works if you angle it towards the far right. What gives. Sharp is suppose to be a better brand. They need to work on their digital tuner especially the sound. I contact Sharp but have not heard back from them yet.

LG 47LG70 47-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

Not only does this unit have a great picture, it is the best if you are trying to beat glare. I was in Best Buy looking up at the Samsungs that get the best reviews and was disappointed by the store lights reflecting on the screen, a big deal as my living room gets lots of sun. By accident I see this LG next to the Samsung and it is terriffic - NO GLARE AND A GREAT PICTURE.

Coupled with the LG BlueRay (has NETFLIX), Polk RM 6750 speakers (a great deal if you can still find them) and an HK AVR 354 receiver (IPOD dock included, 1080p upscaling, beautiful GUI, best looking box and HK sound) I have a $2,250 system that provides a wonderful audio/visual experience at a fraction of the price I thought I would have to pay. I am only 1 month in and my appreciation builds as I learn to use the setup.
