Westinghouse 19" Widescreen TFT Color LCD TV- LTV-19W6

I have this TV mounted on the wall at the end of my bed. It honestly has a great picture, but the audio is so unbearably bad that I don't even know why they bothered the put speakers on it. However it does have a headphone jack audio-out so you can easily hook up a small set up speakers. I used a 3 piece cambridge soundworks system and it works just great. If you can get a deal on this TV, just group in a pair of speakers with it. External speakers are almost always better than TV speakers anyways.

Another complaint I had is that the remote doesn't seem to work well. The power button eventually stopped working. I took it apart and there was nothing spilled on it or obstructing the contacts - it is just poor quality I guess.

The TV channels also seem to switch annoyingly slow when using the built in tuner. You can obviously get around this by using a digital cable box.

Panasonic TH-42PZ77U 42" 1080p Plasma HDTV

TH-42PZ77U, as of 12/2/08 have owned for 362 days. Now about every 30 seconds hear this loud case popping noise from the rear of the set, seems to have gotten worse in last month. Tech rep coming out next week, will be covered under 1 year warranty. See lots of this complaint on similar Panasonics on the web, some say to get it out of vivid mode and turn down the brightness, others say there is a special kit from Panasonic that has felt pads they install in the case somewhere. Panasonic guy on phone said they all do it but not all the time like I described. It's a thermal problem that is causing the cracking/popping sound of the case. Anyone else have this problem ? Great TV otherwise. Seems to occur more when high motion/graphics are being displayed compared to stationary scenes, probably pulling more current and generating more heat. Emerson 20" Pure Flat Screen TV

I will break this review up into 3 parts for ease:

1.) Regular TV viewing: Maybe the best aspect of the TV, colors all look decent for the most part, decent clarity as well...overall 3/5

2.) DVD's/movies: Same as television, I also noted somtimes that really deep reds and greens have a strange flicker and it makes the picture look unpleasant. 3/5

3.) Video games: Worst part of TV. These annoying black borders cut off significant parts of the image (health bar/points) and when displaying more of the vivrant colors they flicker. 1.5/5

I am a bit of a audio/visualphile so I may be a little harsh, but I am very dissapointed with this TV on the whole. OK for regular TV viewing, but if you are a bit of a "tech-dude/chick" steer clear of this machine.

Sony's 19-inch Bravia TV produces an outstanding picture in HD, but it is the sound quality that distinquishes it from the other very good TVs. Vizio 47" 1080p LCD Hd Tv - Vo47l Fhdtv

I bought this item refurbished from Tiger Direct (through Amazon) at $750. Boy was I please with this purchase. All the other reviewers have covered great points, but if you're into gaming, this is a great 47 inch to have in front of you. At 6500:1 contrast and 5 ms response time all your next gen games will look flawless. Plenty of inputs, I have both a PS3 and a 360 hooked up through HDMI (which leaves me two free ports by the way), a cable box through component inputs, and my laptop through VGA.

My favorite feature is the "Enhanced Contrast" mode you can turn on through the menus. What that does is take into account the current image on the monitor and alters the contrast based on it. It's surreal when you're playing a game, walk from indoors to a sunny outdoors, and the screen brightens up just like you would experience in real life. The same goes for the opposite. This really put an extra oomph in my gaming experience.

LG 26LC7D 26-inch 720p LCD HDTV

Finally time to upgrade from the portable black & white. Had a little Christmas money & started shopping around. First was looking at the larger sized Olivia's at Target & Kmart. They seemed like quite the realestate for the $. Checked around & after listening to some of the online horror stories on returns, I got a little spooked. After a lot more review reading online, everything seemed to point to Samsung & Toshiba. Started checking them out at Circuit City & they looked fine, but the picture of the LG seemed to really pop, compaired to the other two. Had not planned at all on LG, but was really taken by the side by side picture comparison. Didn't seem like it mattered which size you were looking at, LG seemed a little better. Hemmed & hawed for a couple of days & thought I'd go see what Best Buy had to offer. Wasn't all that up on Best Buy & really wanted to give C.C. the business, but Best Buy had a reboxed unit for a really great price. Again, tried to be very subjective on the picture quality as they had all three brands & darn-it, no matter what size you looked at, from the big 40somethings on down, LG seemed to have a picture that was more alive.
I really wanted to get a bigger screen, & after watching the Super Bowl on it, it's not the best for watching sports on - size wise - but I felt quite good with myself for not having to put anything on the credit card. Paid off is a much better feeling.
So, it's been several months now, have pretty well mastered the set & am still quite happy with the purchase. It's a really great looking set, you can get some pretty impressive sound out of the stock speakers, you can see it from some extreem side angles - happy all around.
Lot's of inputs, but have only used the DVD & VHS hookups so far. I'd definitatly recommend this little LG. - As a side note, just got back from a hotel in Colorado Springs that had LG 42"ers in the rooms. My wife bought us one of these for Christmas. First we tried DVD's and were pleased, radio works and finally I tried an OTA antenna, but inside the house and it picked up about a dozen channels. I was not satisfied with this (no fault of the TV) so I put the antenna in the attic and now I get ALL local channels and in digital HD so there is no static. Very happy with my set-up now. Have not tried with CATV. Bottom line is the unit is fine for OTA broadcast if you have a really good signal. BTW, I used a $10 antenna. This tv broke after 1 1/2 years of use. I'm quite disappointed. A blue line developed that ran vertically along the right side of the screen. I read online that applying some pressure with the palm of your hand would make the blue line go away. This worked for a few weeks but eventually the blue line continued to come back and my little trick stopped working - gotta buy a new tv or deal with this little distracting blue line torturing my soul for the rest of my tv viewing life. I couldn't give no stars,But that is what it is worth. I have had this TV for 100 days and have been trying to get it repaired for the last 40 days. The DVD player does not work. First It took over three weeks to actually get to speak to someone at the Magnavox contact phone number. I repeatedly got disconnected by the automated system. Then I finally get through and am told I have to bring it to a services center for repair. This is Ok, until I call and am told that I have to pay for the labor as it is over 90 days and the labor is only covered for 90 days. So after another call to Magnavox, I got them to pay for the labor. The DVD player has not worked since I got it. Every DVD freezes and sometimes you can get it to finish out and other times you have to pull the plug to get the DVD out of the TV. This is what I get for buying a cheap TV/DVD combo. Sony's Bravia KDL-46WL140 W series Full HD 1080p HDTV

For the last six weeks, we have enjoyed having Sony's Bravia KDL-46WL140 W series Full HD 1080p HDTV grace the wall of the family room, a spot previously hidden by a large wooden media cabinet that contained a 37" JVC CRT TV. The contrast in clarity and sharpness between the two TVs is amazing, and the Sony's crystal clear picture on HD TV shows just how much technology has changed in just nine years.

Before buying this model, I was looking for a flat screen with plenty of HDMI inputs (not that we need them now, but in three years, who knows?), a TV that itself was not ugly or overstated (didn't want any touches of red or other colors as I was not buying a car), and a TV that would make me stop and stare at the picture. A bit of research preceded my expedition to find the right TV (we were saving change for quite some time), and this model was the one I kept coming back to at the large consumer club where I bought it. The other TVs, all getting their feed from the same in-store source and all subject to the same harsh overhead lighting, all paled in comparison. (Plus, this was the last one in the store, showing that I was not alone in my opinion.)

We installed this 46 inch on a Sanus rack, and actually our measuring was the most time-consuming part of the installation. The set up menus were easy to follow, and the we had the TV up and running in about 30 minutes. We have tried out some of the options, and after some initial tweaking in the deeper levels of the menus, have not tended to leave the settings as is. I suspect once we add a blu-ray DVD player, we will need to reexamine the options.

It took a bit longer for me to figure out all the inputs and get the surround sound working through my older non-HDMI receiver, but I agree with others, that the TV's sound is a bit anemic, and the added muscle from surround sound really enhances movies and concerts.

Guests have all commented on the quality of the picture and the size of the 46 inch screen. For us, this is plenty of TV, and we should be "future proof" for a few years yet. I have not yet hooked up the Internet component (though it is installed) but plan to run an ethernet cable directly from a router to the TV in the next few weeks.Buy Sony's Bravia KDL-46WL140 W series Full HD 1080p HDTV!

This set looks great with its' silver finish. You need to read the instructions to learn how to get the best picture mode to view in HD. That takes a few minutes of reading and is well worth it. I purchased this on black friday and got a great deal ($400). I am very happy. I have had no problems with it. I have it hooked up with component cables and the picture is great. I have seen some hi-defs that really distort regular signals, but this tv does a good job on regular or hi-def. Only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because it is 720p and not 1080. Bought this TV and originally had problems with the video signal dropping. I had to go to the Westinghouse website and download a firmware update just to watch anything through the low res RCA jacks. However, the HDMI which is the only way to fully realize HD is an issue that Westinghouse has no plans to resolve! Reps from both Panasonic and Westinghouse told me there is a compatibility issue that renders the port useless. Gateway FHD2400 - LCD display - TFT - 24" - widescreen - 1920 x 1200 / 60 Hz - 400 cd/m2 - 1000:1 - 3 ms - 0.27 mm - HDMI, DVI-D, VGA

My first fhd2400 was a floor model in perfect shape. After about 3 months it got a vertical red line on the screen, going from top to bottom. Chatted online with Gateway tech support, they advised me to send the monitor to the service center for warranty repairs, which I did. I got it back in about a month (after a couple of calls and some complaining about their slow service).

The monitor still has a problem with the optional speaker bar (basically it does not get any sound from the HDMI input, so I need to use the analog audio input). And it has an above-the-average amount of bleeding, more than 1 inch on every edge. But I don't care much about these.

I actually liked the display so much that I bought a second one, in refurbished condition. This one runs great so far. No dead/stuck pixels on any of them.

Overall, a very cool, glossy and not expensive 24" HD LCD with unexpected extras such as picture-in-picture, 4 USB ports, portrait mode and all the A/V inputs you'll ever need (check out the technical specs!).
