The 22" is a good looking and sounding TV. It also looks larger in person and a 19" would of done fine. The set settings for viewing on the control panel is not impressive and I programed the coloring myself. Also the menu's are small and you have to be close-up to read them. I am not satisfied when viewing a DVD and the acting is in a dark area or dark clothing, it is hard to see the characters and sometimes when there is daylight in the windows in the movie the bright light is too bright and no adustment helps. The TV that was sent to me has a small white speck where there is nothing showing, but I will contact the company on the speck and darkness issue. Buy SOYO 2238AB Graphite Series 22" LCD TV!

Great deal at $1300, lots of picture adjustments, but useless for my home theater as it only has one digital audio coax output, which my newer audio reciever doesn't have. Philips just trying to cut corners- parent company LG's equivalent 47" LCD has audio outputs of digital coax, fiber optic, and L,R RCA which most home entertainment centers still have. Panasonic TH-65PZ750U 65-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

We bought the TH-65PZ750U both because an independent/non-profit consumer magazine rated its little brother, the TH-58PZ750U, as the top-performing TV in its size class, and because Panasonic TVs in general were rated as having the least-frequent / smallest number of problems/repairs. In my own experience, one can't take for granted getting both high performance and reliability in one product. So with a credible source saying that Panasonic nailed both, we figured we can't go wrong.

We've been using this TV for about 4 months and are very pleased. The picture looked awesome right out of the box. The only adjustment we've made since then is to back off the "Picture" setting because we found it to be very bright; not a flaw, just preference. I am particularly fussy about picture quality, and until now preferred smaller screens because the big ones just didn't look good to me. But the TH-65PZ750U changed that. The HDTV picture is incredible. The colors are vivid but not embellished, the level of detail is stunning, and the edges are nice and crisp. In fact, with a good HD source, the TH-65PZ750U is able to give the illusion of looking out a window or "being right there". But it also excels with regular non-HD sources as well.

On top of all that, the TV itself has a nice gloss-black frame that looks really sharp. Obviously a matter of taste, but some of the gray-plastic frames on other TVs make them look cheezy and could be of detriment to the "wife-approval factor". Ours is being used as a monitor connected to a home theater system, so I am unable to comment on the TV's built-in tuner or sound quality.

So if you want top-shelf picture quality from a company with a good track record for reliability, the Panasonic TH-65PZ750U is definitely worth putting at the top of your short list.Buy Panasonic TH-65PZ750U 65-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV!

Buying this TV was a nightmare! I ordered this TV and the vendor (not amazon.com) that sold it to me sent me a DIFFERENT TV! Hoping I would be stupid enough not to notice! I reviewed the other TV he sent me and after alot of thought decided to keep it (was running out of time to get a TV for my parents for Xmas) and when we opened it and turned it on, the volume was defective! I returned it to the vendor and he said I would get credit minus shipping and restocking! I told him it was defective and he said it was not! I told him to plug it in himself and see! I am sure he knew it was and bought it at a discount and then tryed to sell it to me hoping I would not notice! WHAT A CROOK! Philips 42PFL5332D 42-Inch LCD HDTV

This television is better than I expected, very easy to set up and use. Picture quality is very good. When I ordered this T.V. I was a little concerned about ordering such an expensive item online, but everything worked so well. One small problem was when this item was ordered it was the last "FACTORY SEALED" item in stock. After the order was placed the company(TECH-FOR-LESS)that had the T.V. called me to say that the "FACTORY SEALED" item was not in stock, but they had 3 Philips 42PFL5332D 42-Inch LCD HDTV as "OPEN BOX" units. And if I would accept one of these they would also add a 2 year warranty at no additional cost, which I decided was fair.
When the television arrive at my home it was like new except that the stand was missing. When I called TECH-FOR-LESS they were very nice and apologized for my inconvenience and that they would send a stand that day, which they did. This is a great T.V. at a great price. BROKSONIC - 32" Wide HD Digital LCD TV

You can get this TV for 400 or less. I picked one up for my girlfriend in November 2008, along with a Sharp BD player. We also run a PC to it with a wireless keyboard in order to watch TV through imdb and hulu, and their PS2, Xbox360 and Wii all run to it through a component video switch. We also hooked up an old Radio Shack antenna for HD brodcast TV (You don't need an "HD" antenna). Everything looks great!

If you're not going to use a calibration disc, like Digital Video Essentials, make sure you put it in Movie mode. You'll get weird artifacts in shadows in the default "sports" mode.

It doesn't automatically switch well between FS and Widescreen modes, so you may have to tell it the mode manually on occasion, and it defaults to Sports mode if it is unplugged. Those are my only two complaints.

BD titles and DVD titles look fantastic. I have a Pioneer Pro-111FD at home, and although it rocks, it did cost almost 8x the price. I don't mind watching a movie over there at all. The contrast is deep enough so you don't get those distracting washed-out blue-blacks, and the colors are bright and vivid. In fact, the picture at times is so jaw-dropping sharp and realistic (good source material), it looks almost 3D. I've looked at other bargain priced sets in the 32" size, priced around 500 or more. Save yourself a hundred or two and get this if you can find it. We/she and her family have been using it for about three months now and love it!

Okay so I bought this tv about 6 months ago... Yes it is a decent TV for the price but there are a few draw backs. First of all there is not a single HDMI... I've had this TV for over a year. The TV is easy to use with lots of nice features and it gets a nice picture. After several months of use the power supply went out while the TV was still under warranty.

The customer service and warranty repair service is horrible. It took almost 3 weeks to get someone to the house to repair the TV. Hour's on the phone with Samsung and all they do is blame the 3rd party service provider that they contract the work out to. This is the last Samsung product I will ever buy. I have this Samsung 23" LCD HDTV. I purchased it for a Bedroom and Love everything about it. I did alot of looking around at different brands etc of LCD Televisions and found Samsung had the best Picture Quality. Also Consumer Reports said some good things about Samsung that impressed me... Honeywell Topaz Series 24" Wide TFT LCD Monitor - Black

I love this monitor.

I do wish it had a better stand, it has frustrated me endlessly that it does not have HDCP.

However, I solved that with a "Star" video converter/scaler. The scaler, however, was useless to me to convert YpBpR signals to VGA. S-video, composite, 480, it do, anything else, noo! Noo! I was off by one character, "C". The "Star" scaler I have works on "YCbCr", which is
some kind of digital voo dippity doo doo standard that is great for engineer's pocketbooks and frustrating for consumers. I got it for an insanely low price, half of what I had seen it for on eBay from buy.com. I do NOT like the Star scaler. I initially did, but it's a POS.

Apparently I'm not alone in this disregard, some EQUIPMENT manufacturers mislabel one for the other, though I can't be sure of that, that's what someone in a message area said. I tried to get it going in Component, and anything above the lowest setting on my cable box wouldn't work. (Boo fricking hoo! Moving back a few feet will work in s-video) I can't say I'm impressed with the converter/scaler, I don't know if it's the scaler or my cheapo unshielded cables, though the jury on that is out for lunch, but s-video through the scaler from the cable box, I can live with it until a cheaper solution comes along. Buying a "hd fury" -- which I can say I sometimes wish I would have done to view 1080p -- my Time Hotdog cable box doesn't HAVE 1080p, and this monitor does not support it. I'll wait for something more logical to come down the bitstream.

I mainly want the s-video for using with my camcorder.

I've had a Gateway FPD2185W, the bad caps in that went out after a year, right after the warranty went out, and after I had disposed of it, I saw a fix for the bad caps on the Web. I had an Acer 22", I have a Samsung TN panel downstairs that cost me as much as this one did and is 17", which has HDCP. It does 720p. I'd rather "put up" with the Soyo.
I do more Youtubing than boobtubing, anyway.

I may be ultimately an unhappy camper, Smellfeetica, I've had a lot of ho-hos and horrors with hardware. Monitors seem to be pretty touchy creatures. But I've homebuilt (Yeah. Right. Homebuilt, mail-ordered) systems, and only one did not work when I first booted it.
But one was a Gigabyte and it was fried later.

I read reports of Soyo making crappy motherboards once upon a time, but this is the best of those three monitors purely in terms of visitude, which is what I spend all my time DOING on it. Yeah, the Gateway was nice, it had all those inputs and HDCP, but not having a headache from eyestrain on the job is nice, too. Having a monitor in a year's time will be nice, if this one lasts.

I've read lots of reports of dead pixels, I have a frozen one in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. I took a black magic marker to the logos. It looks AWFUL under harsh lighting, and I don't recommend anyone do that, (also, don't take a pressure washer to your screen, as
one wise a- wise man wonked), and as soon as I find my roll of electrical tape, I'll go after the power LEDs, though I approve of the color choice. Maybe masking off the bezel and using flat-black paint hijacked from a "Krylon" Corp. freighter would have been the answer. But someone into modding their monitor like that would have the Dell 30" or whatever, and conversely, not have to mod their monitor in the farcet place.

I got the M-PVA 6 ms version. Could be happier, but not for the amount of money I paid. I was going to take this back to Wal*Wartz and trade it for an HP 24", and if they didn't have such a draconian policy on returns (as well as on humanity itself) I would have done that, and I would have HDCP, but as a MONITOR, for half of what I paid, it's a good deal. LG 32LC2D - 32" LCD TV - widescreen - 720p - HD ready - black, dark silver

I like so many others have experienced the Black screen of Death on a LG 47" LCD 1080P flat screen. The TV, for no apparent reason, just goes out even though the power light still shows green. I made the unfortunate mistake of buying this TV from CompUSA (2 weeks ago) who is now out of business. I called LG and reported the problem and they gave me the number of a repair center. When I asked if they have ever heard of this happening to anyone else they told me it was a "Known Issue". I just don't understand how a company can sell products with "Known issues" and then make it the consumers problem. I'm dropping my TV off tomorrow for what I am expecting to be a very long period of time. Good luck to everyone having this problem. This is probably my last LG.

P.S. I must admit though when the TV was working I was very happy with the picture and sound quality. However, the TV actually needs to be functional to give it a good rating. We purchased the TV in November and by the time we got o January we had problems witht he Picture. Whenever the tv was turned on we would get multitude of little multicolor lined grid of the program we were trying to watch. We woudl have to turn off and turn ont he tv multiple times to get htis to go away. We contacted Phillips and they decided to give us a newer model becasue the part needed for this tv is on backorder and it is not guranteed that it will come in ever.

I wish the problem happened sooner so that I could have returned it to the orignal place of purchase. This will be our first anfd last time buying a Phillips TV.

I have this in my bedroom. In retrospect, I wish I had waited because prices have come down since my purchase about a year ago or less, but that's the nature of technology. I got this TV for a present, and had very high expectations. Originally, they were met, excellently, as I just used it occasionally, and the hi-def looked great. However, after I began using it more, I discovered that the audio will get off after 20 minutes - unlike the others, on mine, if you shift inputs or change channels, it does not return - you do have to turn the tv on and off. Also, with mine, the audio sync applies to all inputs - try playing Rock band when you have a 2 second sound delay - not fun. I've contacted Westinghouse no less than 10 times about it, as it seems mostly like software problems with it, and they had an update, but took it down - said their webpage wasn't working, and basically told me to shove it. I purchased this TV brand new in 2001, and I have enjoyed it ever since. The sound from the stock speakers is pretty good, and the picture quality is second to none. The PIP tuners are very convenient and you can play the sound of the PIP image even though the larger part of the screen is showing something else. I was about to purchase a High-Def tuner/antenna for this TV when I received a brand new 32" Sony LCD TV as a Christmas gift. Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-37M3000 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

The only problem with SONY TV's is that they, like the Energizer Bunny, keep going and going and going. My 1986 Sony 19 inch needed a big brother and after looking at Sharp and Samsung and others I concluded that the SONY LCD 37 inch Bravia 3000 was the logical choice. The 37 inch is large enough for the average sized living room, the remote simple and 'uncluttered' containing only the functions and features you will use 99% of the time, and nothing more. The menu system is easy to understand and interact with, and has my favorite feature, seemingly unique to SONY, the INFO BANNER, that displays the title of the program currently aired. The picture quality is excellent and does not have that overly emphasized contrast that many lesser brands use like a fishing lure to entice the unwary buyer. SONY, simply put, is a great product overall, and the Bravia LCD in particular is well designed having fantastic well balanced warm natural colors, sufficient controls to enhance picture and sound to your personal taste and an array of inputs that satisfy most needs. Sylvania LC320SS8 32-Inch WXGA LCD HDTV

Overall the LD320SS8 seems a great product. I have not yet done anything exotic--but thus far I am extremely hppy with the picture and the set. However I had occasion to call Sylvania (Funai) tech support to confirm how to wall mount the TV and to remove the stand. That is another story told below:

Imagine my surprise when the very nice voiced lady told me they will not support wall mounting and will not provide any information on it. I reminded them I was on my own to ensure it wouldn't fall, and again asked for help --- with the same answer. I asked for a supervisor, and was told there were none followed by hang up on their part.

Bottom line---I figured it out and it is hanging but I haven't the courage yet to try to drop the stand by unscrewing the four screws that seem to hold it in.

BTW, the wall mount company was responsive but ended telling me to contact a supervisor at Sylvania. I sent two letters to Sylvania HQs, so far no response.

So I guess even though I am so far pleased with the set it is the LAST American brand I shall purchase (even if made by someone else). This is a bridge too far for me.Buy Sylvania LC320SS8 32-Inch WXGA LCD HDTV!

LG 42PC5D 42-inch 720p Plasma HDTV

we had a warrenty on it so we got the problems fixed. Their was a strip of different colors going vertical down the side of the screen. We got that fixed but unfortunity the company that fixed it in our area scratched the boarder that surrounds the tv so we had to send it back and get that fixed too.. but everything was free so i have no real complaints! SO far I really love the tv and it is really easy to use! One thing we noticed though.. when your watching a dark movie sometimes when a bright object comes on the screen it blinks purple.. dont know if its just our tv or if its a thing the LG does.. we asked the mechanic and he said he cant figure out why it did it. This is my second Hitachi plasma, I paid $6,000 for a 42" when I was living in Japan 4 years ago; it's still going strong, no burn issues and a truely superb picture so I had no reservations going that way again.

Pro's
+good connectivity set off to the side (this is important because with a tv this size it's difficult to reach around to the middle of the back)
+good colour, good blacks, excellent picture
+sleek looks, bezel is a glossy piano black, speakers are well hidden and manual controls are on the side out of eyeshot
+price, 1080i for the price of a 720p, falling between two stools makes for a bargain imo.
+ir window is off to the left side so doesn't get blocked by my centre speaker

Con's
-stand doesn't swivel, not an issue for me as it's (eventually) going on the wall
-it's heavy, probably no more so than any other, but please bear this in mind when deciding on placement.

Delivery
I've read various comments about the shipping agents amazon used to send this - Pilot. Amazon's systems don't link with Pilot's in the same way that UPS does so the amazon updates are almost useless, Pilot itself then sub contracts out the local delivery to a third agent - this all seems a little low tech and inefficient when compared to UPS/Fedex. The upside though is that while this is less than seamless if you do end up calling Pilot you will talk to real people who are extremely friendly and happy to help. The delivery guy they used was superb and didn't have his hand out for a tip either...

The human touch is, again imo, important with regard to the delivery of this product because unlike most of the UPS deliveries you can't just dump this outside the garage door....Buy Hitachi P50A402 50-Inch 1080I Plasma HDTV!
