The Toshiba REGZA line is perfect for a bedroom or den. The picture is outstanding and the sound is excellent. We have a Sony HD LCD tv (42") in our main room and the Toshiba picture, though a smaller screen, is comparable in terms of color and the sound on the Toshiba is superior. This is a good time to buy, as prices continue to sink. It is comparable or better than the most popular brand at the moment, Samsung. Pros:
- Good Picture
- Excellent Resolutions
- Many features, Many different AV inputs
- Prices reasonable

Cons:
- It had to take 3 seconds to start the picture
- No matter you turn off with the switch on the TV or from the remote, it is always on stand by mode. Not actually turn off.

Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-37M3000 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

The only problem with SONY TV's is that they, like the Energizer Bunny, keep going and going and going. My 1986 Sony 19 inch needed a big brother and after looking at Sharp and Samsung and others I concluded that the SONY LCD 37 inch Bravia 3000 was the logical choice. The 37 inch is large enough for the average sized living room, the remote simple and 'uncluttered' containing only the functions and features you will use 99% of the time, and nothing more. The menu system is easy to understand and interact with, and has my favorite feature, seemingly unique to SONY, the INFO BANNER, that displays the title of the program currently aired. The picture quality is excellent and does not have that overly emphasized contrast that many lesser brands use like a fishing lure to entice the unwary buyer. SONY, simply put, is a great product overall, and the Bravia LCD in particular is well designed having fantastic well balanced warm natural colors, sufficient controls to enhance picture and sound to your personal taste and an array of inputs that satisfy most needs. I purchased this TV a week ago. It arrived on a Friday; I took it out of the packaging and put it on the stand on Saturday; I went through the menus and set it up on Sunday; and Monday the screen wouldn't come on (and hasn't come on since).

I opened a service ticket with Samsung with my warranty: they sent a tech out to my house to replace the system board, which had no effect. So I'm now waiting on a replacement DMD board, but they're out of stock, so this may be a while.

VIZIO 37" 1080p VO37LF HDTV - VO37LFHDTV10A

I purchased this Vizio 37" 1080p HDTV about a week ago... I watch it everyday in my living room and still find myself amazed at the picture quality. I have another 4-yr old HDTV (different brand) that is a little smaller (32") and less resolution (720) and the difference is very significant.
I never thought there would be such a noticeable difference in picture sharpness and response time, but there is. The Vizio can't be beat!
I recommend this Vizio to anyone who wants top quality picture at a decent price. The audio on this TV is also satisfactory. As a matter of fact, I have not had the time to hook up my home theater system yet, but the sound is just fine as is. I may not even bother with the home theater at all...
By the way, I did use the HDMI one-cable hook up between the cable HD/DVR box and the TV -- it was a pleasure to get things up and running in about 30 seconds without miles of tangled connectors.

I purchased this newest version of a Vizio 32 inch with 1080P. I am very impressed with the picture and sound. Two HDMI inputs for my high definition cable box and my blu ray DVD player. Crystal clear picture and the sound is amazing. This makes the second Vizio tv that I have purchased. I also own the 42 inch plasma Vizio. The sound on the 32 inch is so much better. Haier HTR20 20" CRT TV

My purchased was delivered promptly. Very good product for the price. So far, am well pleased. There was a slight dent on the top but it works great. I assume that was why it was such a good price. It was purchased for my grandson to hook his Wii to in his bedroom. Picture is very sharpe and has great color.

Toshiba REGZA Cinema Series 52XV545U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

This is simply a superb television. We had looked at others in the 52-inch class that cost less and actually were going to go to Costco and buy a Sharp when we went elsewhere and saw this sset. We also have a Toshiba 42" plasma that has been an excellent unit. The thing we miss from our 42" unit is the built-in TV Guide which this set does not have. That's the only down side. We've had it for just over one month and have watched it quite a bit since my wife had major surgery at the beginning of December and we've had to watch more than our fair share of television and movies.

I'll admit I was a little worried because we had bought the HD-DVD player from Toshiba 18 months ago and it failed prematurely. Haier HLC19R 19-Inch Widescreen LCD HDTV with Built-In DVD Player (Black)

I picked this product because of its good reviews and features. It arrived timely in apparently new condition, although the DVD player did not work properly--after playing any number of new and used DVD brand discs for about 10 minutes it would make a snapping sound and shut the power off. Then if the set was turned back on and disc was restarted it played properly. The amazon vendor Computer Brain promised to mail me a new set as soon as I sent in a tracking number for shipping the item back. 10 days later I had heard and received nothing and when I wrote I was told it was on back order. They estimated a new set would be shipped by 2/18/09 or I could have a refund. I asked for a certain shipping date by 2/20/09 or a refund confirmation. It is now 2/28/09 and again I have gotten no new set shipped and no refund or communication. I cannot recommend purchasing the Haier set or the vendor Computer Brain. If I get a prompt refund or a working set I might say otherwise--I liked the set when it was working. The only problem was the highest volume setting was still quite low to hear. LG 47LG50 47-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

A friend of mine has been spending hours the past several weeks trying to find that perfect LCD TV. I think he must sank 40+ hours into the project by now. He did eventually settle on a 40-42" (can't remember which) Sony for about $1500.

I walk into a close-out sale and walk out with a LG47LG50 in less than 15 minutes for $899. Now, I'll be the first to admit that not doing proper research into a high dollar purchase is not wise, but this TV is amazing! Lots of connections and a brilliant picture that is easy to customize. I've put my PC, a game console, and my over-the-air antenna up to this LG and all look great! My research-heavy friend came over to see it today and was thoroughly impressed with the set.

Best thing about this TV is how intuitive the menu user interface is. Everything from the physical remote control to the antenna tuning interface just makes sense. I'm not saying my 85 year old grandma can run with it, but I believe most people will have absolutely NO problems navigating the myriad of options on this set.

PROS:
- Great, large picture
- Good price
- Intuitive menus and button layout
- Attractive set (hidden speakers)
- Lots of connectivity

CONS:
- Glossy black finish makes finger prints and dust easily visible
- It's light. It's couple pounds lighter than other TVs this size. This could be a con as it feels "cheap," or it could be a pro in that it's light and easy to move. Not a deal breaker.

BOTTOM LINE:

VIZIO 37" 1080p LCD HDTV - Java (VOJ370F1A)

This is a fantastic TV for the money. Crisp, bright picture. Solid build quality. Clean and attractive design. Good remote control makes it easy to switch between inputs.
HD channels look as good as they do on my high priced plasma. I also have my MacBook hooked up to the TV as a second monitor using the DVI out with a DVI/HDMI converter and it works PERFECTLY.
