I have not stressed this TV too much since I am using a Pioneer AV Receiver which upconverts all video and handles the audio itself. As such it only sees full 1080p signal. So probably some of the satisfaction can be credited to the receiver. I really like the fact that the screen brightens up during the day (at least appears to be significantly brighter and easy to watch even in bright surroundings). On the other hand, I wished it was a little brighter during the night. Yes, I have played with the settings.
